Day 61 - Dickens Day

Charles Dickens spent much of his life in Kent, and so, surprisingly, many of the places mentioned in his stories are in Rochester. We had a lovely Swedish tour guide, thanks Stina, and she showed us around her stomping grounds, giving us the tour.

Day 60 - Determined

If the sun shone today, and one lives in England, then a BBQ mist take place, even if the out door electric heater is a necessity!

Day 59 - American Quiz Night

Not quite the secret weapon, but I got the football question right!





We came in second place, I think 73 points, behind eighty something, but lots of the questions were history, and they were all old!!!

Day 58 - Ass Backwards

I had a flat tire today, and there's no spare in my car, I guess there's no where to put one, go figure. The leasing company sent a 'recovery' van, which was not a tow truck, even though I told the guy on the phone that I did not have a spare tire, so I had to leave a very generous colleague with my car, ride with the recovery van man to the 'tyre' place designated by my lease company, to have them only have an expensive version of the weird sized 'tyre', and then lease company drag their feet deciding if they'll approve the tyre.

Day 57 - Indian Tea

I delivered a friend home from work today in exchange for some Indian tea, it's delicious. I ended up with tea and dinner, thanks to a lovely lady!

I heard today that France passed a law that women who cover their faces in public will be fined. It's not a stoning, but how is that any different than forcing them TO cover their faces?

Day 51 - Diamond in the Rough

I work in a town called Gravesend, enough said.....




However, tucked away in the town is something that is completely amazing, and I was happy that one of my colleagues shared it with me. A new Sikh Temple, and it is beautiful, with marble shipped from India, beautiful work and architecture, and a glorious kitchen with traditional vegetarian food.

Day 50 - Graze

So, there's this fabulous website that sends healthy snacks in a package in the mail, beautiful! I've been inspired by my neighbours, and I received my first one today! I of course had to have a taste of a little bit of it, but there's plenty more to go around!!





Plus, check out the weather today! Everyone wants to believe it's time to don the summer attire, but we are on a small island, who knows what will change, but hopefully we'll have more sooner than later!

Day 48 - BBQ Chicken?

This is the coolest chicken contraption ever, and it goes on a BBQ. Did you know you could open a can of beer and put it inside a chicken for flavor? Or, you could use this...

Day 46 - Arundel Castle

I awoke to a beautifully sunny morning.





And then visited a castle on the way to the seaside, when of course it got cloudy! The highest point of Arundel Castle is 'The Keep'. By far the biggest castle I've seen so far, belongs to the Duke and Duchess of Norfolk.
